With Caleb studying in Virginia and Madi in Mississippi, neither of them expected that being sent home for COVID would be the start of a very unexpected journey!

Madi hosted a bonfire party that summer (which Caleb didn’t want to leave) and all of a sudden, a “friendly invitation” to Portland for thrifting the next day turned into a head-over-heels situation.

Of course, once summer came to an end, their long-distance relationship began! From Mississippi to Spain, Oregon to Virginia, and anywhere in between, the two stuck together through FaceTime, letters, and anticipation of the next time they’d be together in person.

Finally, in April of 2024, they were reunited in Roanoke, VA where Caleb proposed at Natural Bridge State Park! Now, instead of being separated by (multiple) time zones, they’ll get to be together, forever.
